You will realise your purpose by following God's leading.

The clearer you are about your purpose, the more willing you want to pursue it. This is because you desire to fulfill what God intended for you before the foundation of the world. The process, however, is not always easy. As you let go of the old and familiar to embrace the new and unknown, fear and resistance may arise.

Focus acts as a compass as you move in the path of your purpose. It directs your attention and removes distractions. You seldom get lost when you stay on focus. Pursuing your purpose allows God to work in and through you. It transforms you from the inside out, from constraints to freedom, and from yourself to others. To put it another way, fulfilling God's purpose changes your life from one of receiving to one of giving.

Jesus’ life is the ultimate example of a giving life.

He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death—his death on the cross. For this reason, God raised him to the highest place above and gave him the name that is greater than any other name. And so, in honour of the name of Jesus all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees, and all will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:8-11 (GNT)

Knowing God's purpose, as Jesus demonstrates, makes obeying God more appealing. Jesus obeyed God to the point of death, even death on the cross. It is because of His obedience that God highly exalted Jesus by bestowing Him the name which is above every name. You, like Jesus, are empowered by God to carry out your purpose, and when you prevail to do so, God receives the glory He deserves.
