For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.  I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

Ephesians 1:15-17, New International Version

Only God can reveal Himself to us.

Did you notice how the Apostle Paul unceasingly gave thanks to God the Father when he saw the Ephesians' evidence of faith in their spiritual life and service? In his prayers, Paul kept asking God to bless the Ephesians with such incredible spiritual wisdom and revelation so that their relationship with God would grow with greater intimacy, freedom and confidence.

Having the Spirit-filled ability to see the accomplishments of the finished work of Christ will cause you to walk in authority and power so to continually experience breakthroughs in every aspect of your life.

A breakthrough is a new advancement.

The reality is that you are a victor in Christ. However, there will be moments where you might feel like your relationship with God isn’t growing or face defeat when placed in difficult situations. When your circumstances seem bleak and hopeless, stand your ground with the truth that you are a beloved child of God. Remind yourself through God’s Word of how you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loved you. This fight of victory is always from a winning position — for you are fighting your battles with the victory Christ has purchased for you.

If not for the revelations that Paul received from the Lord, he would not have had the wisdom and knowledge to fight the good fight of faith. Even though Paul was languishing in the dungeon, when he wrote to the Ephesians, he was flourishing in faith and in joy.

Living a lifestyle that is built around the gospel of Jesus Christ will bring victory and deliverance when you feel most defeated. Paul knew better than most people the painful persecutions of his faith. He faced the bitter rejection from his fellow Jews, and the vile betrayal of friends who left him when he needed them the most. Yet, Paul never wavered in his faith. He clearly knew that he would have victory in Christ. In his second letter to Timothy, Paul testified, "The Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom" (2 Timothy 4:18).

Let us learn to recite Paul's prayer for ourselves, that our Father God will bestow you with wisdom and revelation so to keep our lives in Christ fresh, vibrant and strong.
