For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

2 Corinthians 13:18 (NKJV)

Nowadays, truth is a precious commodity, especially in a world of soundbites and skewed opinion pieces. It is particularly crucial for us to stand on the truth of the gospel even if the tides continue to shift against it.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians concerning their actions and behaviour and how he would not adjust or shift his preaching of the gospel only to appease or please them. Paul and his companions have been serving Jesus faithfully and sincerely by following and serving Him, regardless of whether it complies with the cultural norms or political dynamics of their time. While they make every effort to find the lost, they will not act in a way that is not in accordance with the truth.

Unfortunately, the truth of the gospel has been compromised within the body of Christ in favour of unfettered inclusivity, which neither involves nor leads to the release of individuals from their bondage of sin. The gospel is not the gospel at all if it does not result in obedience to the perfect will of God.

Even if we shouldn't communicate the gospel in an offensive manner, we must be mindful that it is already offensive to those who reject and resist God. Do not be intimidated by their actions. Ask God to soften their hearts and open a door for you to reach them.

Regardless of the consequence or what other people may think, speak the truth in love and act in love. It is wise to learn how to present the truth clearly and compellingly if we truly want other people to experience the joy and peace that only Christ can bring. Keep in mind that sharing the gospel involves more than just what you say and do; it also involves how you treat and value other people.
