To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:27 (NKJV)

According to a survey conducted a few years ago, many Christians rank among the unhappiest people in the world. The main cause is that they see God as a rather highly authoritarian and judgmental God of conditional love. How we view God will affect the way we approach life and represent Him. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the character of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God is the God of hope.

No matter our circumstances or trials faced, we can rest on God's promise that He will never leave us and never forsake us. We can hold on to God's many promises when things don't make sense or go wrong in order to overcome fear and discover hope. As a result, we spread the word of hope to others, which is more important than ever during this time of many global uncertainties and crises.

How can you give others around you a reason to hope?

The kind of hope we're referring to here isn't just wishful thinking or false optimism. The source of our Christian hope is in the person of Jesus Christ. He has come to offer salvation to everyone and not just a chosen few. Thus, we have genuine hope in Him because we believe He is able to save us to the uttermost. Knowing that God loves us more than we can imagine is comforting and humbling.

Since we have this hope, we can learn to remain hopeful and anticipate favour from God no matter the situation. By doing so, we can share with others the hope we have in Christ, both for this life and the life to come.

Be a hope bringer for a world that is desperate for hope and healing.
