To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:27

A survey was done a few years ago and it is revealed that many Christians are amongst the unhappiest in the world. The key reason lies in their view of God as a rather highly authoritarian and judgmental God of conditional love. A wrong perspective of God will affect the way we approach life and represent Him. It is therefore important to understand the character of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God is the God of hope.

No matter our circumstances or trials we face, we can rest on God's promise that He will never leave us and never forsake us. When things don't make sense or go wrong, we can cling to the many promises of God so as to find hope and overcome fear. In turn, we become hope bringers to others, and in this time of COVID crisis the message of hope is more than ever relevant.

How do you bring hope to the people around you?

The hope we are talking about here is not simply wishful thinking or false optimism. Rather, our Christian hope is found in the Person of Jesus Christ. That is He has come to offer salvation to everyone and not just a chosen few. This hope we have in Him is real because we believe He is able to save us to the uttermost. It is both reassuring and humbling to know that God loves us more than we can imagine.

Since we have this hope we can learn to stay hopeful and expect good things from God, no matter our circumstances—for He can bring good from everything that happens to us. If we do so, we can help others to know the hope we have in Christ. Furthermore this hope is not just for this life, but also for the life to come.

Be a hope bringer for a world that is desperate for hope and healing.
