Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:9-10 (NLT)

The first thing we must realise is that doing good works is something God does through us, not something we do for God. If we understand this truth and serve alongside what God is already doing, we won't suffer from ministry anxiety, burnout or fatigue.

Our Father God does not judge our worth by how much we do; otherwise, our efforts become a performance measure to earn acceptance and approval. Rather, God has already given us worth and value in Christ, so that everything we do for Him is done through faith and not through our flesh.

You are uniquely made and exceptionally crafted in God’s love. There is no one else like you. This means, even before you were born, you were imbued with God's purpose and call. Knowing who you are in Christ helps you to know why you are here and what you were meant to do.

Service is God's means of maturing and purifying us so that our relationship with God and love for God remains strong and healthy. Thus, it is God’s way of fathering us into the fullness of our sonship so that we can enjoy our oneness with Him.

Oneness comes from being united with the Triune God and participating in the divine community of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This frees us from a false dichotomy in the way we live and serve God. It is not that we do our part and God will do His part. When we listen to Jesus and do what He says, we experience energy and synergy because we are working and cooperating with Him. Our fruit is His fruit. All things are ours by us being His masterpiece.
