It’s my duty to make sure that Satan does not win even a small victory over us, for we don’t want to be naive and then fall prey to his schemes.

1 Corinthians 2:11 (Voice)

When we seek God's Kingdom and righteousness, we will encounter another kingdom that opposes us. This other kingdom belongs to the devil. It's a kingdom of darkness, wickedness, and lies.

The Apostle Paul warns us to be wary of Satan's schemes and not let him trick us. Satan's kingdom is a kingdom of darkness, and most people cannot see or discern it because they are inside it. God's kingdom, on the other hand, is characterised by light and life. Simply put, Jesus came to invade Satan's kingdom. The light of His kingdom not only dispels the darkness of Satan's kingdom, but it also rescues us who were the targets of Satan's hatred and hostility, transporting us to His realm and reign (Colossians 1:13).

Jesus' death on the cross, followed by His resurrection, broke Satan's power and disarmed him. This is spiritual warfare par excellence. If we understand this gospel truth correctly, we are not saved from hell to heaven, but rather from Satan's kingdom to God's kingdom. Then it's time to stop playing church and start being the church that the gates of hell can't hold back the power of Christ in and through us.

How aware are you of Satan's schemes in your life?

Most of the time, we find ourselves defeated because we are not vigilant in protecting ourselves and our loved ones from spiritual attacks. Although our position as sons and daughters remains intact, and Christ's victory is ours through faith, we can become discouraged and lose confidence if we simply fail to resist the devil.

As a child of God, you have the authority and power to defeat the enemy in the name of Jesus. Victory is yours because you will defeat the Enemy with the spiritual weapons God has provided for you. You do not need to be afraid; just believe.
