Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ESV)

There is no place for worry in our lives when we trust God and have faith in Him and His Word. Knowing that we are fully embraced by Perfect Love who casts out our fear, we can be confident that God is always for us and will never forsake us. This gives us the courage to go through any changing circumstances or situations, knowing that God is on our side even in the hardest of times.

Difficult days affect everyone. But not everyone realises they have a Perfect Father who loves them and will take care of them. Trust is the attitude and position of a son or daughter who remembers that they have an amazing God who will help them even when things seem impossible. They have learnt that valuable lesson and understand that their difficulties will not diminish God’s faithfulness, but rather God often demonstrates His perfect faithfulness when we are most disappointed and downcast. Instead of being threatened by adversity, they become bolder and more courageous in the face of crisis and personal struggles.

Trust is rest.

When we learn to trust, we follow the One who invites us to rest in Him alone. As we firmly plant and root ourselves in Christ, we become like the tree that stays green and fruitful even when the conditions around us are less than ideal. We will surely thrive and flourish because we draw strength from His strength and life from His life to sustain us through the most difficult of days and seasons.

If trust is something you struggle with in your relationship with God, ask Him to reveal to you what is keeping you from trusting Him. So often, the answer is that we seek to control our lives in our way with our choices rather than choosing for God to lead us. This insecurity reveals an orphan spirit that needs to be healed.

The good news is that we were created for sonship, to experience God's love as His beloved sons and daughters, as well as the company of His presence. As we continue to walk surrendered to the truth of who we are and what we have in Christ, our trust will deepen and our relationship with God will be strengthened.
