Jesus said, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel."

Mark 1:15 (NKJV)

The gospel can be summarised in seven words: "The kingdom of God is at hand!"

When Jesus began His ministry, He proclaimed the reality of His kingdom would triumph over the kingdom of Satan and the kingdoms of this world. As a result, His teachings, miracles, signs and wonders demonstrated both the physical and spiritual dimensions of His kingdom, which you and I are invited to enter and participate in!

It may appear that the New Testament contains two gospels: the gospel of the kingdom preached by Jesus and the gospel of salvation preached by the Apostle Paul. However, there is only one gospel, and this distinction in description highlights an important truth.

Consider the gospel of salvation to be "a door" that allows you to enter "the building," which is the gospel of the kingdom. The door is a part of a building but it is not the entire structure. Yet the door serves an important function for a person to enter the place.

You are saved by Christ in order to experience the true reality of what it means to be saved in Christ. In other words, your salvation is a turning point that allows you to move forwards and towards what Christ has in store for you in His kingdom. Furthermore, the gospel of Christ empowers all believers to manifest and reveal the culture and values of His Kingdom in the society around them.

Jesus continues to call for faithful disciples, not churchgoers. Unfortunately, many have chosen to live a tame and timid version of Christianity rather than pursuing a radical and revolutionary adventure with the Lord.

Go and fulfil your mission as a messenger of the gospel. Your obedience can often open doors for you to change lives in ways you never imagined possible.
