Hope delayed makes a heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:12 (EHV)
Hope goes beyond wishing thinking. Hope is believing in God’s goodness in spite of your present circumstances. While life can be cruel at times, we can rest on God’s promises to provide comfort and encouragement to meet our every need.
Hope can fade if you don’t hold it in a safe place in your heart.
As Christians, we are called to live in the hope of the resurrection and the expected coming of the new heaven and new earth. In other words, the actuality and reality of the good things to come is what gives us hope.
While we will suffer tough times, trials and tragedies, don’t lose heart but nurture a quiet confidence that God is always working all things together for our good. Learn to live by faith.
Put yourself in the hands of God because the grace of God will not take you where His glory will not follow. This is good news. When you embrace the truth of God’s perfect love, it brings you closer to God’s heart. It cleanses your sin. It heals your wounds. It fills your mind with hopeful thoughts.
God is your source of true and lasting joy.
He will not forsake or forget you.
Submit to God for His wisdom and believe He will make a way for you.
When God puts hope in your heart, you will grow into a “tree of life” whose fruits will be beautiful blessings to many. This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he said that we comfort others with the same comfort that we get from God (2 Corinthians 1:4). If you can learn to speak and act with courageous hope even amidst personal loss and difficulties, you may well make a significant impact in someone’s life.
