Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

Romans 12:13 (ESV)

Hospitality is a quality that we possess as a people of God.

It is sharing the gifts that God has bestowed upon us with others in order that they may be blessed and encouraged. The Apostle Paul encourages us to contribute to the needs of the saints and to exhibit hospitality. That means we should actively seek out opportunities to help and serve people. This requires us to be generous with our time, energy, and resources.

Our attitude towards hospitality demonstrates how genuine our faith is and should be.

If you can give, be generous and give liberally. If you are hospitable, you can help newcomers and care for those who are vulnerable and forgotten. After all, we are told that when we entertain strangers, we might be entertaining angels without realizing it. (Hebrews 13:2).

When we give ourselves to others, we must maintain healthy boundaries and avoid compassion fatigue. We can be impacted by their circumstances without becoming cynical or jaded. When we show hospitality, we reflect God's hospitality to us. In other words, people should see God in all we do and comprehend how God sees them through us. Consider the examples of Barnabas and Tabitha. Their acts of love and kindness not only helps others, but also connects them to God’s grace and generosity.

You do not have to go far to help someone in need. They are around us everywhere. It is about empathising with others and being helpful when they need it the most. We do not always get it right, but if we try our best with love, we will see God's hand at work in their lives.
