Let every employee listen well and follow the instructions of their employer, not just when their employers are watching, and not in pretence, but faithful in all things. For we are to live our lives with pure hearts in the constant awe and wonder of our Lord God. Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others. For we know that we will receive a reward, an inheritance from the Lord, as we serve the Lord Yahweh, the Anointed One!

Colossians 3:22-24 (TPT)

Worship and work should never become two different things.

Scripture shows worship and work were always fully intertwined throughout a priest's ministry. They worship while working and work while worshipping. Similarly, as priests to God, we don't work for the sake of working because doing so would turn work into a curse. Work is a blessing from God because He created us in Christ to be productive and fruitful in all we do.

Our work is not just to grow the economy, but also to increase the awareness of God's presence and engagement in the lives of people we meet and interact with every day. When we make it a priority to practise our holy calling as priests in Christ Jesus after the order of Melchizedek, we are built up as God's people and become His chosen vessels to fulfil His prophetic purposes.

The Kingdom is embedded in the marketplace.

It is not confined to the four walls of the church but is active within every sphere of influence.

As we worship and work as God’s royal priests in this world, we seek to see His Kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Our role is not only a priestly but also a prophetic activity. We are to not only proclaim faithfully the message of the gospel of the kingdom but also to prophetically manifest God's presence and power through our witness, worship and work in the marketplace.

As an employee, all you have to do is give your all at work and maintain a positive attitude while you're there. Not because someone is watching you, but because God has sent you there to make a positive difference in people's lives. If you consider your work as an act of worship, people will see the One you worship.

It is critical that you do not use your working hours evangelising or sharing the faith with others. That makes you an amazing witness but a terrible worker. Rather, simply learn to sincerely care for your co-workers, to pray for them as you get to know them and be prepared to share your faith when the opportunity arises.
