God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 5:5 (ESV)
God is love and relational.
As we grow in a richer and deeper relationship with God, we will discover the intricate loving connection between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of the three persons loves and trusts the other two totally, and this life and love of the Trinity flow into us. We witnessed the Father’s love when He gave us His only Son. We witnessed the Son’s love when He gave His life for us. We witnessed the Holy Spirit’s love as He flooded our hearts with God's love.
This Trinitarian love in us forms the basis for our life, faith, and ministry.
The "emptying" of God's love into us fills us with God Himself, transforming us into living vessels of love who give to others what we gladly receive from God. We do not need to do anything more than take steps of faith to grow in our love for one another and serve together.
There is nothing missing from our relationship with God.
We are complete in Christ, and we already have everything we will ever need to live a life that reflects our completeness in Christ. The question is, do we truly believe it? This will require humility and willingness on our part.
When we forget who we are and to whom we belong, life, faith and ministry can become difficult if not overwhelming. It is not that we have grown overly busy, but rather that we neglected our spiritual health and well-being. The Apostle Paul teaches us that if we do not enjoy what we do, we are nothing more than the hollow sound of a clanging cymbal (1 Corinthians 13:1). We are Christians not just because we believe in God, but also because of our experience of Him. When we show others love, we demonstrate the truth that God and His life of eternal love dwell within us.
