All the believers were of one heart and mind.

Acts 4:32

Community is not first of all adopting a set of doctrines and beliefs or a particular church practice. Instead, community begins with being embraced by the Community of the Trinity. And our encounter of the Three Persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) in the Godhead defines and fuels the way we do and build relationships.

We are united in and through the Trinity. We don't have to create unity—it is already a reality. We just need to manifest it in our life together. Then solidarity, forgiveness and true harmony become awesome possibilities.

The early church lives and moves in one accord. The phrase "one accord" appears several times in the Acts of the Apostles.  In each instance, the Greek word "homothumadon" is used and it simply means "with one mind, one purpose and one passion".

God wants us to be one—just the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one. If we cannot be one with each other, it is not a "fact problem" but a "faith problem" on our part. For in Christ, we are one family with one Father God and the Holy Spirit helps us to walk with each other—so that together we can be God's living expression of Himself on earth.

Our view of God affects what we are and do. In other words, the health of our church community hinges on how healthy our relationship with God is. Having the experience of the perfect love of the Trinity, we are not looking for perfection but for progress in the way we welcome and receive people. If we truly believe and live the gospel, we demonstrate the same uncommon grace, favour and blessings to each other and to others who are yet part of us.

Keep believing and keep practicing the truth we have in Christ, and we will experience His grace working in our midst.
