Just before the light of day came, Paul told all of them to eat. He said, “Today is the fourteenth day you have not eaten. You must eat. It will give you strength. Not one of you will lose a hair from your head.” After he said this, he took some bread. He gave thanks to God in front of them all. He broke it in pieces and started to eat. They all were comforted. Each one ate some food.

Acts 27:33-36 (NIV)

What we most need in every new season is not simply a fresh mindset, but also a newfound faith that will bring us into a whole new experience of God's promise and provision. Our journey of faith and the lessons we've learned have prepared us for what God has in store for us.

We should do the same thing the Apostle Paul advised everyone on board to eat and drink in order to gain strength for the journey ahead. The best meal we can have is to feast with our Lord at His table. It is "comfort food" that connects us to the grace of God, knowing that even in the darkest night or the most devastating storm, we can find rest in Him.

Spiritual life is sustained by spiritual food.

Commune with the Lord as often as possible, either alone or with others. Don't be so preoccupied with yourself that you neglect to eat and drink from the Spirit. One moment with the Lord can make you better than the sum of all your worries for the day.

Learn to receive grace upon grace from God as you soothe and strengthen yourself in His love. When you grow new faith, you will be able to recognise and step into God's preferred future for you.

One lesson we may learn from the Apostle Paul is that your faith in God can positively impact others to believe in God. As Paul had communion with the Lord, he transformed the spiritual climate of the entire ship. Everyone was encouraged and comforted, and everyone ate something.

Our personal time with the Lord will bring us into alignment with what He is accomplishing now and in the future. If we want to see our community grow and flourish, with the kingdom of God becoming a living reality in our lives and the lives of others around us, our intimacy with God is and always should be our first priority in every season.
