He saved us because of His mercy, not because of any good things we did. He saved us through the washing that made us new people. He saved us by making us new through the Holy Spirit.
Titus 3:5 (ERV)
You experience new life in Christ because of the Holy Spirit's transforming power working within you. When you are saved, the Holy Spirit abides and stays with you forever. From that day forward, He glorifies Jesus by assuring you of your salvation and bestowing upon you fruits and gifts to honour God through your service.
This new life differs from your previous life of sin. The old life of sin, or the old sinful nature, has already been crucified with Christ, putting an end to our slavery and bondage to sin (Romans 6:6). You are now a new and perfect creation in Christ, with a new nature, mind, and heart. This makes the victorious Christian life a possibility, rather than just a wishful thinking.
This new life is so new that you can't figure it out without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. His ongoing work is to conform you to your new identity in Christ from the inside out (Romans 8:28–29). In other words, you have the substance of His person and power, which is a manifestation of Christ's full glory living within you.
Once understood, revival is not an event to seek; rather, it is a consistent lifestyle of profound fellowship and authentic intimacy with God through the Holy Spirit. Simply believe and hold on to it through faith!
