May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV)
It is through Christ that we are brought into the Community of the Trinity. We are in a perfect community of perfect love. We not only get to enjoy a loving fellowship with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, but we also get to experience the beloved work of each person of the Godhead individually.
It is through our community with the Trinity that we can be in community with each other. Knowing we are completely and irreversibly connected to the Trinity enables us to represent this precious and supernatural reality in a genuine and meaningful way that blesses others. We build community when we can display and demonstrate God's love to those around us.
When we try to create a community on our own terms, we are claiming that we are better than God. However, if we learn to humbly articulate what we have learned from our personal and shared experiences of oneness and community with the Trinity, we will see a transformation in our church community that exceeds human expectations.
There is no pessimism or defeatism in the community of the Trinity.
If you don't like what you see in our church community, bring your innermost longings to God and allow Him to draw you further into His love. It is only through a love-healed heart that you can rediscover grace and spiritual strength within yourself to love without fear or rejection.
Whatever appears to be missing or deficient in our community demonstrates that we are missing out on what the Trinity desires to do in and through us. This makes it easier for us to blame others for what we don't like about our lives and ourselves. However, as we continue to find and receive Trinity's love for us, we shall develop in our acceptance and capacity to love each other and others. If we sincerely dare to love as God loves us, we overcome our fear of treating others with scepticism and distrust. Then people will be able to declare that God is among us.
