May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love.

Ephesians 3:17 Amplified Bible

The gospel starts and ends with God's love.

When you are established and grounded in His love, your faith will take root and thrive. Faith grows from the knowledge and experience of God's transformative love through the gospel of Jesus Christ. The more you perceive God's love for you, the greater the depth and maturity of your love for God.

If we do not understand and appreciate God's love, we will become hard and cold towards others. This is what happened to the church in Ephesus. Jesus told them that they no longer loved Him as passionately as they once did (Revelation 2:4). This hindered them from serving with love and excellence.

How have you experience God’s love recently?

Many Christians have forgotten what it means to be loved by God and what it means to be accepted by God. That is why we are not excited with our Christian walk. Passivity and boredom are the result of a disconnection from our identity in Christ. This produces orphan spirits and an unteachable heart. This dulls our spiritual hearing and makes us unable to discern the deeper truths of God's Word.

"Rooted" is derived from the Greek rhizoo, which means "established, firm, and fixed." It is a command to believers to always stand firm in Christ always. Being deeply rooted in Christ is like a tree's roots growing deep into the earth to take nourishment for bearing fruits and strengthening its base to withstand harsh weather and conditions. When you have a firm foundation in who you are and what you have in Christ, you will be faithful and fruitful in all seasons.

Pray for wisdom and revelation and build your life on God's love for you. When you do so, you will become spiritually stronger and have a greater impact on those around you.
