May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love.

Ephesians 3:17 Amplified Bible

The gospel starts and ends with God's love.

When you are established and grounded in His love, your faith will take root and thrive well. Faith grows from the knowledge and experience of the power of God's transformative love through the gospel of Jesus Christ. The more you perceive God's love for you, the more your love for God deepens and matures. Moreover, being perfected by love empowers us to live more and more in wholeness and holiness.

Do you believe that God fully and freely loves you?

If we are poor in our understanding and appreciation of God's love, we will become hard and cold towards others. This was what happened to the church of Ephesus. Jesus told them that they have not loved Him as much as they used to (Revelation 2:4). This, in turn, hindered them from serving with love and excellence.

Have you experienced the love of God personally?

Many believers have forgotten what it means to be loved by God and what it means to be accepted by God. That's why we are not excited and bored with our Christian walk. Passivity and boredom comes from a disconnection from our identity in Christ. This breeds an orphan spirit and an unteachable spirit. This makes us dull of hearing and unable to perceive the deeper things of God's Word.

The word, "rooted" comes from the Greek rhizoo which means "established, firm and fixed". It is a command to believers to stand firm in Christ always and at all times. To be deeply rooted in Christ is like the roots of a tree growing deep into the soil, so as to draw sustenance for bearing fruits and strengthening its base to withstand the harsh weather and conditions. When you are firmly grounded in who you are and what you have in Christ, He will enable you to stay faithful and fruitful in every season.

Pray for wisdom and revelation and build your life on the foundation of God's love for you. When you do so, you will grow stronger spiritually and make a greater impact on others around you.
