Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.

John 14:9 (NIV)

The God of the Bible is neither a divine dictator nor a celestial legalist. God, on the other hand, is the God of perfect love and mercy. Many however have not always fully grasped the nature of His being and character. The coming of Jesus was to fully reveal the Father to all humanity, allowing them to become His sons and daughters through faith in His Son.

The Father is undeniably evident in Jesus' words and works.

Everything He says and does is intended to reveal God in all of His attributes and glory. We will never understand God more deeply unless we have a relationship with Jesus. According to the writer of the letter to Hebrews, Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His entire essence (Hebrews 1:3). Knowing Jesus is knowing God, and knowing God is knowing and living an eternal life of love. Therefore, always pray for a fresh encounter with the Father’s love through the Spirit who abides in you.

The Christian life is the call to live out of the revelation that we are already completely loved and accepted by the Father.

We need to affirm ourselves in the truth of the gospel and stop earning our way to be saved. There is a certain blessing when God can do His transforming work in us and through us. Then when we learn to make Him known we are not doing it to make ourselves feel better. We simply do what we do because we love our Father, and we want to share His love with everyone.
