Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

Matthew 2:1-2

Lots of people often think they are too smart for Go. To them, the notion of believing that God exists and He wants a relationship with us is only for fools and ignorant people. The story of Jesus' birth, however, shows us a different picture.

The Apostle Matthew tells us how wise men seriously searched for Jesus to worship Him. They were too smart not to believe. These wise men or magi were the leading academicians and intellectuals of their days. Following the star that had gone before them, they journeyed far from the East to locate the Christ Child.

After a series of significant events, they finally found the One whom they were searching for. Though Jesus was still an infant, they worshipped Him as a king by laying their treasures of gold, myrrh and frankincense before Him. Laying treasures was their practice of recognising someone in their presence that was greater than all of them.

These wise men paint a picture of worship for us: that is, to lay down our minds and our intellects for God to consecrate them for His glory. His Holy Spirit can transform your mindset and stir you to a whole new way of thinking that does not conform to the conventional wisdom and reason of the world. This kind of wisdom cannot be discovered elsewhere.

Shape your thoughts on God’s wisdom that comes through revelation of His grace and truth in Christ.

No matter how wise the wisdom of this world may sound, it is still fundamentally flawed and is hugely prone to misinformation because it flows from the fallen nature of man.

God’s wisdom is without fault and will never return back to Him without fulfilling its purpose. Godly wisdom brings such clarity and stability that you will see things differently and and therefore be able to act and respond differently. Choose to live with incredible wisdom in a world that is confused and divided and broken and wisdom will give you something to hope for that will not disappoint you.
