When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

John 8:10-11 (NKJV)

God does not judge us in the same way that some people do. They only see one side of us and then make a whole conclusion about us. But when God judges us, He knows everything about us. God will call us out because He knows that one part can ruin the whole part of us.

Getting caught was a wake-up call for the woman.

Jesus did not excuse her sin, but He did not condemn her. His forgiveness gives her a fresh start with God and a fresh start in life. In a way, grace is unfair, perhaps even downright incomprehensible—it is about God not treating us as our sin deserves and instead blessing us with what we don't deserve.

When God’s grace is your source of life and power to do what pleases Him, there is no fear of ever disappointing Him. He will keep giving us grace because He knows we have no strength in ourselves to earn His favour or love.

We all need God’s grace to believe what is true and do what is right. Then we'll start seeing the world with a critical eye, not a critical heart. Don't pass judgement on others. Rather judge them lovingly and truthfully. After all, it's simpler to focus on someone's shortcomings than their virtues; to talk about their failures rather than their successes; and to find the bad in them rather than the good.

If you desire to be like your Father in heaven, learn to treat others well, not because they are worthy of love or deserving of love. Rather, seeing them as God sees them will strengthen your faith, giving you the grace and power to love them as God loves them.
