It is in Him that we live and move and keep on living.

Acts 17:28 New Life Version

God’s presence in us gives us the power to will and do what pleases Him. By walking and acting with faith on this truth frees us from the fear of ever disappointing God or failing Him. Perfect love secures us, not our performance or achievements.

Too often we project our fears and guilt onto God when we make mistakes or do wrong things. Somehow, we have forgotten who we are and how God sees us in Christ. This creates an unnecessary chasm in our understanding of God and friendship with Him. It reduces our relationship to tasks and obligations and not of trust and love. This is why many of us often feel unworthy and not good enough for God to love and accept.

We must never fear how God sees us—regardless of how we see ourselves.

It is good to fight back every feeling of inadequacy and insecurity with the truth of the gospel. We must learn to think and act out of our God-given identity in Christ. It not only heals us but also keeps our relationship with God healthy and strong.

You already have everything you need in Christ to thrive and become more like Christ. The Christian life is more about believing than behaving—believing God loves you changes how you live and believing your love for God increases your desire to please Him. After all, God gives you grace so that you can continue to move forward with Him.

A good and godly life is the fruitful outcome of knowing and being loved by God.

The more we know we are loved and accepted by God, the more we will love God and not be fearful of Him in an unhealthy way. This empowers us to live a life that expressively sings and shows the transforming power of God’s love.
