You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:15-16 (NLT)
We live in a time when many people are content with their shallow faith in God and are unwilling to grow a deep relationship with Him. They prefer a faith that complements their lifestyle rather than confronting how they live for God.
Jesus exemplifies what it means to know and love God as He really is. He spent more time praying than doing ministry. His constant communion with God allows him to serve from a position of rest. In other words, Jesus was never as active as he was productive. As we follow Jesus, we want to get to know the Father and let Him do His perfect work in us.
God only wants us to fully conform to the image and likeness of His Son. This means we must be intentional about our spiritual growth and allow God’s Spirit to take hold of us. It is about renewing our minds with the reality of who we are and what we have in Christ. The process entails taking the gospel seriously and challenging any selective or simplistic representations of faith, which are often found in shallow understanding or even incorrect, unbiblical reasoning.
Consider Apostle Paul's advice to Timothy. We must never lose our love for God and His Word. Study God's Word diligently so that you are not deceived by every wind of doctrine and remain steadfast on your faith journey.
