Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to him both now and forever. Amen.

2 Peter 3:18 New International Reader's Version

The Apostle Peter exhorts us to grow in grace. But we cannot produce grace from within ourselves. We can only accept and receive God’s grace freely through faith and allow it to work in us to transform us from glory to glory.

In Christ we have everything we need for a faithful and fruitful life.

The more we grow in our knowledge of who Christ is and what He has done for us, the deeper our experience of His grace and truth will be. This takes place as a direct result of us believing and resting in Christ’s finished work for our right standing and right relationship with God. Here you will discover grace is more than unmerited favour or kindness or mercy. Grace is personified in Jesus Christ because we have His abundant life in us to empower us to live freely from sin and to live fully for God.

We cannot overemphasize how vitally important grace is for the believer.

Jesus gives us an unlosable position and place with God through His gracious act of salvation. Jesus not only took our rags of sin on Himself, but He also gave us His robe of righteousness. These two acts of grace—that is, substitution and imputation—frees us from the fear of legalism and eternal insecurity.

Grace is both amazing and empowering.

In making us new creations of God’s righteousness, we have the loving and living grace of Jesus reigning in and through us so that we may not continue in sin but live blameless and holy lives. In other words, grace leads to the obedience of faith. That is, we live each day, waiting and listening for opportunities to freely obey God and faithfully serve Him. Not because of blessings or fear but because of God’s love for us and our love for Him.

God is most glorified when we are most satisfied to live life to the fullest in Christ.
