Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make. 6Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go.

Proverbs 3:5-6, The Passion Translation

Some people make the discovery of God's will harder than it has to be, as if His purpose for our lives is some mysterious, hard to grasp and strangely abstract thing. It is this wrong notion that keeps them from stepping out in faith and experiencing everything God has in store for them. They would excuse themselves for not doing God's will on the basis that they are still waiting for some sign or confirmation.

You cannot know God's will without knowing God's heart.

The ability to detect God's will flows from an authentic relationship with Him. Unless you are persuaded by the love of God, you will doubt His presence and power at every turn and twist of your life. After all, once in Christ, God’s heart will be nothing less than transforming you into the image of His beloved Son.

Keep acknowledging God in everything you do, and He will continue to cause you to walk in His way. When God called Abraham to leave Haran and journey to Canaan, God didn't give him a precise roadmap or a timetable. It was through the many detours and delays along the way that Abraham became a friend of God. This is God's desire and will for Abraham all along. It is the same for all of us. That is, our friendship with God will lead to absolute confidence and complete obedience like a true child of God.

Anyone who enjoys friendship with God will go after God's heart. It is through this intertwining of love and trust that we open ourselves to knowing God's will, ready to follow where He leads.

All of us receive sufficient revelation from God in the Spirit and through the Scriptures to have a reasonable idea that God wants to take us on a journey that will transform us forever. It is a journey that will bring out our fears and worries, but it is also a journey that will bring forth our faith and victories.

The more faith grows in you, the less fear takes hold of you. That is where you become fully persuaded that nothing, absolutely separates you from the love of God.
