God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.
Romans 5:20 (NLT)
To preach Christ is to proclaim the profound truth of His person and His perfect redemptive work of reconciling us to the Father.
The gospel is more than simply good news. It is a genuinely radical message of God's rich and abundant grace which is poured out to cleanse us of all of our sins, our guilt, and our shame. No matter how much we have sinned or how badly we have sinned, God’s grace is so much greater than our sins and our resistance.
There is no need to try or earn your way into a relationship with God because salvation is by grace through faith. Our forgiveness is complete because of Christ's finished work. God has already given and provided for you in Christ everything He intended for you to be or expects from you. It is by walking in faith that you experience restful contentment and joy.
There are no high ideals to achieve in the Christian life.
Remember, grace is not opposed to striving for excellence or becoming the best you can be. It is just against doing it without God’s help and guidance. It is by abiding in Christ that we receive life and power to produce fruits for the glory of God. He not only gives us the will and grace to live fruitful lives, but He also provides us with the abilities and means to do so.
When we grasp this truth, we are free from the guilt of not measuring up or not being good enough. Then we are no longer tempted to compare ourselves to others, or to compete with them. Instead, when we witness others in Christ doing such good and great things, we should rejoice and praise God.
