I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.

Romans 8:38-39 The Message

There is nothing lacking in our relationship and friendship with God.

We inherit and enjoy the same relationship that Jesus had with His Father once we are in Christ. There is nothing we can do to make things right with God. There is nothing we can add or do to ensure the efficacy of Christ's perfect and finished work.

However, many believers are often told that they must earn their way into God's favour rather than believing that Jesus has already made us acceptable, justified, and righteous before God. This distances God and makes him less approachable. There is constantly a sense of unease and self-condemnation because they are not accepting the grace that God continually extends to them.

Why would such believers behave or feel in this manner?

It's because they were raised by a religious spirit that masquerades the gospel. They are taught to believe that they are orphans standing outside the gates, rather than sons and daughters seated at the King's banqueting table.

Through Christ, you have the fullness of the Godhead. This means you have constant access to God. What a wonderful gift! You don't have to work hard to get to God since you and God are eternally inseparable. Even if your prayers are not answered, you may trust that God will not let you down since God is love and God loves you.

Walking in the revelation of God's perfect love frees you to live courageously and truthfully no matter what happens. The Apostle Paul assures us, "If you believe God is for you, nothing can come against you.” Whatever the Enemy throws at you, God has the capacity to turn things around for your good and His glory.

Be fully persuaded of Christ's ability and power to save you and sustain your relationship with God. You will grow in your love for God as you learn more about God's love for you.
