Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:13 (ESV)

Grace is the freedom to choose not to sin.

Some people, however, see God's grace as a licence to sin, and they abuse that freedom by pleasing themselves. Grace will allow you to return to the bondage of sin. Rather, grace gives you with the freedom from sin as well as the power to resist sin.

Learn to rest in the gospel of Jesus Christ and live by His grace.

The revelatory ministry of the Holy Spirit will transform you as His power open your eyes and heart to the rich truths and promises of the gospel. Our union in Christ, combined with the unction of the Holy Spirit, enables us to bear witness to our faith and serve those around us effectively.

According to the Apostle Peter, grace keeps our minds steady and not spiral off into poor thinking and questionable choices. For example, legalism perpetuates a poverty mindset, implying that God is less generous, less loving, and more punitive. Grace, on the other hand, liberates our hearts to love God and others more fully and more freely, including ourselves.

While we are free of all works, we freely choose to participate in God's eternal work of redemption and enjoy God in the process. In doing so, we are following Christ's example, who, despite being a Son, became a Servant so that we, who are slaves to sin, could become sons of God.
