Because Noah had faith, he was warned about something that had not yet happened. He obeyed and built a boat that saved him and his family. In this way the people of the world were judged, and Noah was given the blessings that come to everyone who pleases God.

Hebrews 11:7 (CEV)

When Noah was commanded by God to build an ark, he had to do something he had never done before for a season that no one had ever seen before. When God leads us into a new season, we can feel both excited and overwhelmed. This is because we are unsure of what to expect and do not understand the process. Learning to walk in faith not only helps us overcome our fears and hesitations, but it also reveals our capacity for growth and fulfilment.

Unfortunately, many people heard God but chose to stay where they are rather than risk the change God desires for them. In doing so, they are hindering their own spiritual growth and keeping God’s blessings from coming to them.

If we truly want to follow God, we should expect change and be open to new ways God wants to fulfill His purpose for us. If we learn to trust God, His Spirit will cause us to have a new mindset and attitude. This allows us to walk confidently and freely. The longer we walk with the Spirit, the more stable and stronger we become.

When it is time for you to step into a new season, learn to move forward with God and follow His lead. Be assured that God will sustain you by His grace and provision. He gives and doesn’t withhold good things to those who walk in His way with integrity and intention (cf. Psalm 84:11). Much of what we need we gain along the way, for God will never forget or forsake us.
