In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

Isaiah 54:14 (NKJV)

The devil never stops bothering the saints, even when he is on the losing end. Do not let him oppress you with feelings of discouragement and fearful hopelessness. Recognise that such feelings stem from a heavy spirit that seeks to accuse and condemn you for sin and spiritual struggles.

The Prophet Isaiah says, "In righteousness you shall be established." The Hebrew word for "established" is kuwn, which means "to stay firm, stable, and unwavering". The word literally refers to the physical foundation of a building. In other words, the best way to deal with the devil's lies is to stand firm (or rest fully) on the truth of what God has revealed about you through Christ.

When you experience moments of fear and uncertainty, do not allow them to fester inside you and taint your faith in God. Our Father assures us that no matter what the devil throws at us, it will be ineffective against His righteousness in you. They "shall fall for your sake" (Isaiah 54:15).

Why?

The Apostle Paul instructs all believers to "put on the breastplate of righteousness" (Ephesians 6:14), which is part of God's whole armour, so that we can stand firm against the devil's attacks. A breastplate protects the heart and vital organs. In this sense, righteousness is more than just having a right standing before God; it is also the right weapon to fight Satan.

On your own, you are no match for the devil, but when you consciously "wear" the "breastplate of Christ's righteousness" with the belt of "gospel truth," you can rouse against his every move.
