Do not grieve the Holy Spirit, by whom you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:30 (ISV)

When we resist the Holy Spirit, we grieve Him.

Grieving the Holy Spirit doesn't mean He feels hurt or upset. Rather, the Holy Spirit grieves for us because we are keeping ourselves from living our lives to the fullest. Instead of allowing God full reign over our lives, we just want to experience God from time to time and not all of what He wants to give and do. Let us give every part of our lives to God for Him to completely change us, so to use us for His name's sake.

You are a dwelling place of God in Christ. The desire of the Holy Spirit is not a visitation but a habitation. The more aware you are of His presence in you, the more you receive His power to bear fruit. This fruit of the Holy Spirit is the very character of God living in you. Can you imagine the implication here? When people see you they see God because this is what the Christian life is really about.

By enjoying the reality of the Holy Spirit working in and through you empowers you to be the "new wine" of God so that others can taste and see that the Lord is good.
