But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Sin might keep you from God, but it cannot keep God from you.

God didn't wait for us to be good for Him to show us His amazing love. Right from the start, it was God in Christ who made us right with Him. Even when, as the Apostle Paul said, we were alienated from God and hostile towards Him by our evil thoughts and actions (Colossians 1:21).

Christ died to return us back to God because we were the ones who were running away from Him. Like Adam, we were hiding from God, but He searched for us and brought us out of darkness into His marvellous light so that He may show us the immeasurable richness of His grace (Ephesians 2:7). The implication of this revelation is huge.

There is nothing that can inhibit you from coming close to God!

Coming closer to God entails not jumping through enough spiritual hoops but rather laying down the heavy burden of sin and finding rest in Christ. There is no longer any gap or separation between you and God because our Lord has removed every barrier that separates us from Him. Unfortunately, today's believers are taught incorrectly that doing this or that will bring them closer to God. The truth is that you cannot get any closer to God than you are now, having been united in Christ!

God makes Himself completely accessible to you through Jesus Christ. You can now effortlessly live in love with God because God is love (1 John 4:8). Feast on God's love, and you will undoubtedly have a full and satisfying relationship with Him.
