Come close to God, and God will come close to you.

James 4:8 (NLT)

Coming close to God is an integral part of being a child of God, There is no distance between us and God, for His Spirit dwells within us all the time. But sometimes we forget how good and loving God is. When we lose our awe and reverence for Him, it affects our relationship with Him. Without intimacy, we experience spiritual dryness and abandonment.

If God feels far from us, this is not a "God problem", but rather a "doubt problem". God promises that He will never abandon you or leave you. Even if you feel lost, God knows your situation and what is happening to you. Just because you have messed up doesn’t mean that God has changed His mind about you. God has seen the end from the beginning. Nothing you can do can surprise or catch him off guard.

God's love for us is unfathomable and beyond comprehension, and because of His infinite wisdom, He works all things providentially and directly for our good. It is by drawing near to Him that we can experience and enjoy the fullness and beauty of our Father’s love and affection.

Only through a deep and personal relationship with God can we see ourselves the way God sees us—and live according to the truth. When we live life from the perspective of the truth of our identity, everything we do becomes an act of worship to God. This means we don't have to struggle with competing and competing priorities. That is because work, worship and service are spaces where we can continue to come to God and sense His presence and pleasure in all that we do.
