19 My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.

Galatians 4:19 English Standard Version

Too many Christians agonise over the question of finding out God's will for their lives.

In doing so, we have reduced God's will into doing something for God and not an invitation of just “being” in His presence.  God's will is not a destination or a vocation, but a relationship. Put simply, when you study Scriptures, you will realise that God spent more time telling us who we are to Him than telling us where we should go or what we should do.

According to the Apostle Paul, God's will centres on revealing Christ to you so that Christ is formed within you (cf. Colossians 1:27). As your heart and purpose is being shaped and transformed by the reality of Christ's presence and power within you, you will manifest Christ in your attitudes and actions.

Imagine for a moment that we are like a cup of hot water and Christ is like a tea bag seeped inside us. The longer a tea bag sits in the cup, the stronger the tea gets. It is the same with us. The more we let Christ infuse us with Himself, the more Christ is able to produce through us all that He requires of us

Often we forget who God makes us to be in His Beloved Son.

Being born again with Christ in us, we are made sons and daughters of God. Unless and until we learn to see God as a Father, you can never fully trust Him or even take courageous steps of faith. Without a clear sense of identity, we have no clear sense of destiny or purpose.

Paul likened himself to a midwife ensuring the Galatians had a healthy birth of faith in Christ. However they fail to remember the new life God has given them and somehow chose to pursue a legalistic lifestyle. In doing so, they impeded their own spiritual growth and maturity with a stillborn faith.

Keep feeding on the Lord daily, walking steadfastly in the reality of the gospel.

To have Christ formed with us is to live a life depending upon God's continuing grace so that as His sons and daughters we will thrive well and bear fruit.
