I think myself happy…
Acts 26:2 (NKJV)
You can't wait for everything to be perfect before choosing to be happy.
This is what the Apostle Paul did while on trial before King Agrippa. Despite having every reason to be unhappy and helpless, Paul chose to be happy in every situation because he had learnt to look beyond his immediate circumstances.
If we believe God is sovereign and works providentially, we can be confident that nothing we go through surprises Him. Those who trust in God are not threatened by life's challenges. They do, in fact, grow bolder and more courageous. This is why we must begin to see our problems and pain as opportunities for growth and increased trust in God's promises.
Behind each of God's promises are the plan, provision and power of God to overcome any problem, crisis or challenge. God makes promises to us so that we can live our lives according to His reality and truth. Paul could worship God in the face of the most difficult trials and fierce opposition because he knew nothing could ever separate him from God's perfect love.
Learn to declare God's promises and act in faith. This will positively impact your prayer life. Do not pray because you have needs. Pray because your heavenly Father loves and cares for you.
Paul says all the promises of God are fulfilled in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). This is to say that you are eligible for every promise of God because Jesus fulfilled every requirement for you to be blessed. Because you are in Him, you cannot be less loved or favoured than Jesus was. So, believing that you are happy is not a psychological phenomenon. It is a gospel truth for everyday life.
