Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Matthew 7:24 (ESV)

Hearing God is simple, but obeying is difficult.

Many of us are not taught how to respond to the word of God— or how each word prepares us for the season we are in. Jesus told His disciples that if they follow Him and adhere to His teachings, they will have wisdom in all situations and the confidence to face life's challenges. Storms will put your faith to the test. However, if you lay your foundation on Jesus, the Living Word of God, you will be able to thrive and stand firm in the face of difficulty and conflicts because He has already secured your victory through His finished work.

Keep an eye out for obstacles that may be blocking you from hearing God.

It could be a lack of patience in allowing the Holy Spirit to disclose more of God's heart in His Word or a loss of wonder at God's grace in the gospel.

God called many people in the Bible, but before He could use them in any way, He had to take them through crucial lessons of obedience until they truly trust God that nothing could separate them from His love. This sense of belonging and trust is essential if they are to love and serve God correctly.

The more you understand and value your relationship with Christ, and the more you cherish who you are and what you have in Him, the stronger your faith becomes. How strong? When your faith is no longer a chase or fight, but it is a rest in God's unchanging love for you. And it can happen right now! The only thing to do is to agree with God and see yourself in the way He sees you.

Walking in the truth of the gospel of God's grace effectively releases faith in you, allowing you to believe and trust God. When God in Christ is the Source and Provider of your faith, all things are possible.
