You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16 (ESV)

Be a gospel witness in the workplace.

The workplace is the one place where Christians and non-Christians interact on a regular basis and hold one another accountable for their actions. You have many opportunities to share the good news and point people to Jesus. One of the best ways to do that is to always produce good work and strive for excellence.

Genesis tells us God Himself is a worker, and He created us for work—not only to make a living but also to experience joy and fulfilment. The Apostle Paul tells believers to be good people and good workers, so that they can be good witnesses. Hence, when you are diligent with everything you do, you are not only honouring God, but you also build up your credibility so that others will hear and respond positively to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are times when faith conflicts with work.

What seems profitable may not be morally or ethically correct. Your unwillingness to compromise may cost you an opportunity. However, the Bible provides us examples like Joseph, Daniel, and Nehemiah and ultimately Jesus who glorified God with their attitude, actions, and faith in spite of consequences. Their stories demonstrate how faith and a strong relationship with God can overcome these challenges and lead to success in both professional and personal life. God will never forget or forsake you. When you seek to honour God and His Word, He will honour you in return.

Being believers in Christ, we choose to act with integrity and do the right thing, even when it may not be the easiest or most convenient thing to do. Jesus tells us that people may even give glory to God because of our examples.

God's love should be the driving force behind everything we do. That way, we will enjoy a lasting legacy and a good name for His glory.
