Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17 (ESV)
What’s the difference between religion and relationship with Jesus? Religion is about trying to fit Jesus into your life, while a relationship with Jesus is about building your life around Him.
Having Christ in us enable us to live as authentically as He did.
Jesus lived his life in a way that He was always connected with the Father and always doing His will. Jesus was worshipping the Father in His everyday activities. He was always in the presence of the Father and never separated from Him. So, even when He was busy, Jesus was always at rest. This is why Jesus is our perfect example for living the avodah life.
Like Jesus, we must learn to choose intimacy over busyness and productivity over popularity. As we gain a new perspective on our daily life of work, worship and service, we will begin to see that they are not competing or conflicting priorities. Flowing from our core identity as God’s sons and daughters in Christ, everything we do is our offering to the Lord. This allows you to see value in what you do and feel an intrinsic part of what God is doing in the lives of others around you.
If you are feeling burnt out at work or think you are not making a positive impact, just invite God into every moment of your life— even those times when you are feeling frustrated or overwhelmed. Keep reminding yourself of who you are and what you have in Christ. The more we abide in Christ, the more we experience the unlimited resources we have in Him. Then you will see the reality of how God works in and through you.
