For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

Romans 12:3 (ESV)

We need to be circumspect about how we live out our Christian calling.

According to the Apostle Paul, we must not let ourselves become proud and self-righteous, looking down on other people's faith because it is not as strong as ours. After all, faith is not a competition to see who is the most spiritual or has done the most for God. Instead, we should help others grow in their faith by encouraging them to learn more about Christ and follow him more closely.

Remember that someone helped you become a Christian, and there are others who nurtured your faith or urged you to involve in ministry. You would not be where you are today if you did not have the experience of knowing these people, who encourage you to imitate them in your journey of faith.

God has given you a measure of faith. That means you already have the faith you need to live the life to which you are called. Christ is the author and perfecter of your faith, and as you focus on Him and draw strength from His Spirit, it will grow and become stronger.

Our faith has a greater impact on our belief and thinking than we understand, and it opens us up to new possibilities and experiences with God. Our faith lessons will not shape our spiritual growth, but also strengthen our trust and confidence in God. In turn, we can walk alongside others in their broken places and lead them to their wholeness in Christ.
