9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Colossians 2:9-10

If you long to walk victoriously and overcome the Enemy, it is crucial for you to know your true identity in Christ. Just focus on Jesus and live in the truth of who you are and what you have in Him.

Jesus is the head of every principality and every power because the fullness of God dwells in Him. Truth is, as the Apostle Paul reveals, you too already have this same fullness in you from the moment you first believed. This means there is nothing lacking in you because God has made you complete in Christ.

Being complete in Christ means you have everything you need to live a full and holy life. You can live and walk victoriously because Jesus is both your source and supply of freedom, healing and wholeness. Knowing this, you can overcome Satan’s snares and stand steadfast in times of temptation and weakness.

Knowing your identity in Christ is vital for victorious living.

Satan loves to attack your identity in Christ, just as He did so with Jesus in the desert. He knows if he can get you to doubt who you really are in Christ, he can strip away your God-given sense of worth and purpose. He wants you to stay stuck in old fleshy thinking and behaving so that you will lose confidence in what the Lord has done for you. As such, if you do not fully embrace the truth of your Christ-given identity and destiny, it is easy, for example, to worry about the future than believing God’s goodness and mercy follow you wherever you go.

In the Bible, God has to deal with the “identity crisis” of everyone whom He called into service and ministry. They looked at themselves and gave excuses why they could not do it instead of seeing God and believing that He could do what He promised through them. Truth is, God cannot use you if there is any one single amount of fleshy effort. You are to do all things through Him who strengthens you.

Keep your focus and faith on who God says you are and what you have in His Son and His victory is yours to enjoy.
