You have been chosen in keeping with what God the Father had planned. That happened through the Spirit’s work to make you pure and holy. God chose you so that you might obey Jesus Christ. God wanted you to be in a covenant relationship with him. He established this relationship by the blood of Christ. May more and more grace and peace be given to you.
1 Peter 1:2 New International Reader’s Version
The Community of the Trinity works together in unison for our salvation.
The Father gives the Son to save us. The Son gives the Spirit to help us. The Spirit gives us the faith that binds us to the only one and true Triune God.
Put simply, we must comprehend that God’s desire to save us is more than we can ever imagined. This is because God wants to be in relationship with us. Being made in the Father’s image and having Christ living in us and the Spirit leading within us, we are fashioned out of love, and to be loved. As such, there is no reason why we lack intimacy with God and struggle to walk in the revelation of His love.
Many have the concept of God is love but they remain unsure of whether God loves them. The good news is, Jesus prays for God to love us with the same love the Father has for the Son. God hears Jesus because Jesus was praying in perfect agreement with God’s will for us.
God does not love you less than He loves His own Son. Furthermore, God’s love for you never ceases—no matter if you have been faithful or faithless. Knowing God’s perfect love, however, empowers you to see past your imperfections and continually to walk by faith, and not by sight. Be confident of this, that God who begins a good work in you is faithful to continue His work until it is finished on the day of Jesus’ return (Philippians 1:6).
Remember your salvation is all God’s doing.
The Father initiates our salvation. The Son achieves our salvation. The Spirit sustains our salvation. Without the Trinity, there is no free gift of salvation. So let us thank God the Father for sending God the Son to live and die for us and to live again with us through sending God the Holy Spirit to live in us.
