11 It’s my duty to make sure that Satan does not win even a small victory over us, for we don’t want to be naïve and then fall prey to his schemes.
1 Corinthians 2:11 The Voice

When we seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, we will see another kingdom coming against us and what we stand for. This other kingdom is of the devil. It is a kingdom of darkness and wickedness and lies.

The Apostle Paul warns us to beware of Satan’s scheme and not let him outsmart us. Satan’s kingdom is a kingdom of darkness—and for most people they can’t see or discern it because they are inside it. In contrast, the kingdom of God is the kingdom of light. Put simply, Jesus came to invade Satan’s kingdom. The light of His kingdom not only dispel the darkness of Satan’s kingdom—it also rescues us who were the objects of Satan’s hate and hostility and transport us to His realm and reign (Colossians 1:13).

Jesus broke Satan’s power and disarmed him by His death on the cross and subsequent resurrection from His death. This is spiritual warfare par excellence. If we understand this gospel truth correctly, we are not saved from hell to heaven, but delivered from Satan’s kingdom to God’s kingdom. Then, it is time to that we stop playing church and start being the church that the gates of hell cannot prevail against the power of Christ in us and through us.

How aware are you of Satan’s schemes in your life?

Most times we find ourselves defeated when we are not watchful and alert to protect ourselves and our loved ones from spiritual attacks. Although our position as sons and daughters remains intact and Christ’s victory is ours by faith—we can still become discouraged and cast away our confidence when we simply fail to resist the devil.

As a believer, you have the authority and power to overcome the devil in the name of Jesus. With the weapons that God has made available to you, victory is yours because you shall triumph over the Enemy. You need not be afraid but only believe.
