16 For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.
Proverbs warns against those who want to harm those who are right with God. Their nasty efforts will never triumph over those who have God on their side. No matter how many times they do their best to defeat them, the righteous never stay down for long.
Righteousness is God’s “recovery system” to help you start again.
Don’t miss the importance of you being the righteousness of God in Christ. For His righteousness in you gives you the basis for a healthy sense of self. You are not defined by your successes or failures. You are defined by who you are in Christ. His grace frees you to face failures without fear—so let go and be free to thrive against all odds.
Nobody likes defeat.
When a defeat overtakes you, the easiest thing to do is to quit. If you quit too easily, it will only make you quit easier the next time. Quitting is not an option for those who want to take hold of their God-given destiny. Quitting makes you a victim. The opposite of a victim is a victor—whom you already are in Christ!
Don’t settle for less.
When you get knocked down, get back up again. The best thing is to rise up and give life another shot. Put your faith in God who gives you the courage and confidence to move forward.
How can I keep trusting God in the midst of what I am going through?
