20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Galatians 2:20, New American Standard Bible

When Christ was crucified and raised from death, you were crucified and raised together with Him. By Christ incorporating you into His death and life, sin loses its power and cannot dominate you again. You have died to your old sinful self and are now made alive in Christ as a new creation, forgiven and reconciled to God.

You are in Christ and Christ is in you.

There is no distance between you and Him. This means an authentic life of faith is both possible and real if you simply rest on the truth that Christ is fully sufficient to save you completely. When people think they can rely on themselves to fix their relationship with God, they haven’t quite grasped the fact that it doesn’t require any more fixing because Jesus has done a perfect work. What they really need to do is to be humble and grateful that God accepts them and counts them righteous in Christ, regardless of what they do or don’t do.

The Apostle Paul tells us that the life which he now lives in the flesh, he lives by faith in the Son of God. Faith in Christ frees him from trusting in his own ability or depending on his own strength. Faith in Christ gives him the desire to live evermore for Him.

Like Paul, when you look at Jesus as the source and supply of your faith, you will realise faith is rest because our Lord will always empower you to say and do amazing things in His Name. Consider Peter who healed the lame man in the Temple, or Stephen who preached the gospel through the Old Testament to the Sanhedrin, or Paul when he miraculously rose up after being stoned in the city of Lystra.

Having this new life in Christ will cause you to desire what Christ desires. When you discover more and more of what He wants for you and His Church, you will experience transformation and life-changing moments to live freely and wholeheartedly to the glory of God.

What significant changes have I experienced since receiving Jesus into my life?
