7For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
God gives you a new identity for you to live a new life.
If we are the same person before and after we are saved, that means we haven’t fully understood the gospel yet. Being aware of your identity in Christ is the key to transformation. Knowing your identity is believing everything God says about you by faith, and living accordingly through faith.
Faith is fully engaging God to fulfil His purpose in you.
If you desire change, open your heart for the light of the gospel to get in. Not wanting to change does not make God love you less, but it just makes you more susceptible to doubts and fears because you are not where you are supposed to be. In short, you are lost.
When the Bible says someone is lost, it is not an issue of geographical location, but a matter of spiritual dislocation. To be lost is forgetting who you are. It’s when you feel unloved and unwanted, and therefore, unworthy of being loved by God. The feeling of being lost robs you of your joyful confidence in the Lord.
Feelings fluctuate, but faith stands on the truth of the gospel, that is, God loves you even when you are or feel unlovable. Having this right perspective of being accepted by God, you can walk by faith, which is enjoying a beautiful and productive relationship with Him.
