21 Fasten your hearts to the love of God and receive the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gives us eternal life.
Jude 1:21, The Passion Translation
Learn to recognise God’s goodness in your life in the midst of your pain and suffering.
The Apostle Jude tells us to fasten our hearts to the love of God which is to be loved by God and being in love with God. When we come to an understanding of how much God loves us, we will be able to receive and rest on His grace through Christ Jesus in an ever increasing measure.
God’s love can make us feel safe and free from fear.
Too often we are anxious and stressed because we are relying on our strength to solve the problems of life. We turn to God as a last resort instead of looking to God as our first resource.
To fasten yourself to the love of God is to take hold of the truth that He will never leave you nor forsake you. While bad things may happen and may not make sense, know that God cares about the things that concern you. Even when you feel that God is not answering your prayers, He is still sustaining you in Christ through life’s adversities.
Your relationship with God goes beyond answered prayers.
God is sovereign and is fully aware of all the things that are happening to you right now. No one and nothing can hinder Him from completing what He began in you. Pray instead for God to help you see as He sees and for the grace to trust Him more each day.
Believe in God’s promises and you will stand strong.
