11 Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!
Romans 8:11 The Passion Translation
The resurrection of Jesus completes the story of God’s salvation plan.
We worship a living Saviour who died once for all for the sins of the world, and then rose again to show that He had conquered sin, death and the devil. It is our privilege and joy to bear witness to the power of the resurrection. Isn’t it incredible that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power that lives within us?
Put simply, the exceeding greatness of Christ’s power in us is none other than the Holy Spirit. As such, we don’t need more power but more wisdom and understanding in how to walk, according to the Spirit’s power that is already at work in us. We don’t need God to move as much as we move with God. We need to believe God is actively working in our midst and we ought to partner with God to do what He is doing.
We must recognise that God’s presence and power is not only in the church but also outside of the church. Some believers have the wrong idea that God can only move in certain “anointed” places or through some “anointed” people. When we have the Holy Spirit abiding in us, we all have the anointing to bring the gospel to those most in need to hear it and be set free from sins’ reign and power over their lives.
Learn to listen to the stirrings of the Spirit within your own spirit and obey them.
When we dare to fully trust Him, we will see and experience God working in our lives and in the lives of others in a fresh and living way. As we grow in our friendship and fellowship with God, we also grow in our reliance upon His indwelling Spirit for grace and strength to do all things.
As we celebrate Resurrection Sunday today, pray that God will grow your understanding of the reality of His power that is now with you in everything you do.
